Fake Job Shield is a browser extension developed by Arthiva Labs to help users identify potential recruitment scam warning signs in job listings, recruiter messages, internship opportunities, freelance opportunities, remote work offers, and similar employment-related content.
Fake Job Shield uses explainable rule-based analysis to identify potential warning patterns. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the extension.
Fake Job Shield may process job-related text that you explicitly choose to analyze.
This may include text from a job listing that you choose to scan using the "Scan Current Job Page" feature, or job descriptions, recruiter messages, internship offers, freelance opportunities, or similar text that you manually paste into the extension.
Fake Job Shield uses this content only to perform the analysis requested by you.
Fake Job Shield does not automatically scan the websites you visit.
When you explicitly choose "Scan Current Job Page," the extension receives temporary access to the active webpage and extracts readable job-related text from that page for analysis.
This access occurs only after you initiate the scan. Fake Job Shield does not continuously monitor your browsing activity or automatically analyze webpages in the background.
Fake Job Shield analyzes submitted job-related content to identify potential recruitment scam warning signs using explainable rules.
Depending on the content being analyzed, potential warning signs may include suspicious payment requests, cryptocurrency payment requests, applicant financial contribution requirements, unusual urgency or pressure, immediate hiring claims, guaranteed selection claims, and other recruitment patterns covered by Fake Job Shield's analysis rules.
The extension may provide a risk score, risk level, detected warning signs, and explanations describing why particular patterns were flagged.
Fake Job Shield's current analysis is performed using rule-based logic included within the browser extension.
The extension does not require job listing text or pasted recruiter messages to be sent to an external artificial intelligence service in order to perform its current analysis.
Fake Job Shield does not use remotely hosted code to perform its extension analysis.
Fake Job Shield does not require you to provide personal information such as your name, home address, identification documents, passwords, banking credentials, or payment card information in order to perform a job analysis.
Users should avoid pasting unnecessary personal, confidential, financial, authentication, or otherwise sensitive information into Fake Job Shield. Only provide the job-related text reasonably necessary for the analysis you want to perform.
Fake Job Shield uses browser permissions that are necessary to provide its Current Page Scan feature.
The activeTab permission allows the extension to temporarily access the active webpage after the user explicitly requests a scan.
The scripting permission allows Fake Job Shield to run its packaged content script on that active webpage after the user requests the scan. The content script extracts readable job-related text so that Fake Job Shield can perform the requested analysis.
These permissions are not used to automatically monitor or continuously scan the user's browsing activity.
Fake Job Shield does not sell job listing content, recruiter messages, browsing information, or personal information for advertising purposes.
Fake Job Shield's current rule-based analysis does not require analyzed job content to be transmitted to Arthiva Labs servers or third-party analysis services.
Fake Job Shield does not use analyzed content for targeted advertising, advertising profiles, credit decisions, lending decisions, or other purposes unrelated to providing the extension's stated functionality.
Fake Job Shield is not designed to collect or maintain a history of the websites you visit.
The Current Page Scan feature operates only on the active webpage when you explicitly request an analysis. Fake Job Shield does not continuously track your browsing history, clicks, mouse movements, keystrokes, or general browsing activity.
Fake Job Shield's current analysis does not require Arthiva Labs to create a server-side database containing the job listing text or recruiter messages you analyze.
Analysis is performed for the purpose of providing the requested results through the extension.
Fake Job Shield identifies potential warning signs using explainable rules. Its analysis does not determine or prove whether a job offer, recruiter, employer, company, internship, freelance opportunity, or other employment opportunity is genuine, fraudulent, safe, or trustworthy.
Legitimate opportunities may contain characteristics that resemble warning patterns, and fraudulent opportunities may not contain patterns currently recognized by Fake Job Shield.
Users should independently verify recruiters, employers, company information, interview processes, payment requests, employment terms, and other relevant information before making decisions or providing money, documents, credentials, or personal information.
Arthiva Labs takes reasonable measures to design Fake Job Shield in a way that limits access to information to what is necessary for its stated functionality.
However, no software, device, browser environment, or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Fake Job Shield is not specifically designed for children under the age of 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Fake Job Shield may introduce additional features in the future. If a future feature materially changes how user information is collected, processed, transmitted, stored, or shared, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to Fake Job Shield, its features, browser platform requirements, or applicable privacy requirements.
